Description

Every baker has their own spice mix, and that is where the difference between two speculoos lies.

Ours puts cinnamon first, with candi sugar in the dough. It caramelises in the oven, gives the biscuit its dark colour and provides the hard bite that snaps instead of crumbling.

A Belgian classic in its simplest form. 200 grams.

Frequently asked questions

What is speculoos?
Speculoos is a traditional spiced biscuit based on brown sugar and spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, with a characteristic crisp bite. In Belgium it belongs to the Saint Nicholas period.
What is the best way to store chocolate?
Treat it like a good wine: cool, dry and dark, between 15 and 20 °C, in the closed box. Large temperature swings affect flavour and texture. The fridge or freezer is not a good idea: chocolate absorbs moisture and odours there, and you can taste it.
Where can I find the allergens and ingredients of a product?
On every product page, under 'Ingredients & allergens', and on the packaging itself. Good to know: many of our pralines and truffles contain soy, nuts or milk, and all our products may contain traces of nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, sesame seeds, sulphites and gluten. In doubt about something? Email us before you order at contact@elisabeth.be, and we'll check with the maker.
